Former Presidential Candidate of the University of Ghana Students’ Representative Council (UGSRC) elections, Noah Wumborbi and his team have revealed that they will not endorse any candidate for any portfolio ahead of the run-off elections.
This was contained in a statement released from the camp of Noah Wumborbi, on November 2, 2022.
According to the statement, the decision not to endorse any candidate was unanimously made by the members of the team.
Having consulted the appropriate leadership, The Ark and it’s leadership has unanimously agreed not to endorse any candidate or candidates for any portfolio going into the run-off election. This may come as a shock to many, but The Ark has decided, and I entreat all parties and stakeholders to kindly respect the collective decision of The Ark.
Noah Wumborbi and his team also urged students of the university to vote for candidates they deem fit, who will champion the interests of students.
We entreat our supporters and sympathizers to make the choice they deem fit, while they do that, we remind them to consider leadership that will champion their interests for the collective good of every student in our noble institution.

This follows Wumborbi’s loss with 1,565 (10.3%) of the total votes cast, 15,238 in yesterday’s UGSRC Presidential Elections.
Endorsements have over the years been a part of University of Ghana SRC elections since it sometimes sways supporters from one candidate to support the another.
Last year, Team Governor and Andam, Priscilla Ayeh and Henry Quacoopome all threw their weight behind Samuel Amos Ofosu and Alfred Acquah is the run up to the run off elections while Stephanie Naadu Antwi endorsed the Asumadu and Ndukwe ticket who emerged victorious.
The 2022 University of Ghana presidential and general secretary race has entered a run-off which is expected to take place in a yet to be announced date by the UGSRC Electoral Commission.
Boakye Martin Gyasi recorded 5455 votes which represents 35.8% and Samuel Ackom obtained 3879 votes which is 25.5% in the presidential race. Curtis Owusu 3426 (22.5%), Noah Womborbi 1,565 ( 10.3%), Graham Oduro Derry 742 ( 4.9%) are out of the race since they did not come tops in the presidential race.
15, 238 students voted in this years election out of the 59, 366 expected voter turnout. This voter turn out is the highest in last four years in the history of the UG SRC elections.
