The General Secretary-Elect of the University of Ghana Student Representative Council has asked students to hold her to her word if she fails to fulfill the promises she made them in the run-up to the election.

Speaking on Campus Exclusive after her victory, Emmanuella Boakye said she would ensure she implements the policies that she made during her campaign although she might face some challenges.

Hold me responsible because it’s the very thing I told you and I will make sure I deliver on my mandate no matter what happens.

She noted that this feat can be achieved by working with the other executives to serve the interests of students.

It is not about what I have to bring on board but the collective effort of the executives that would serve the very interest of Legon’, she stated.

The 24- hour operation of the student clinic, The concern feedback system, creation of the UGSRC Journal and media training and driver’s licensing are some policies Emmanuella Boakye promised to bring to fruition after she is sworn into office.

She was elected General Secretary of the UGSRC after garnering 7,156 votes representing forty-seven percent (47%) in the main elections and 8,351 votes representing seventy-one cent (71.2%) in the run-off elections.

Students of the University of Ghana went to the polls on Tuesday, November 8 to decide who become the next SRC President, Vice President, and General Secretary for the 2022-2023 academic year after last week’s election headed for a run off.
