WAEC releases provisional results for 2022 WASSCE candidates, cancels 3,845 , withholds 177

The West African Examination council (WAEC) has announced the release of  provisional results for candidates who sat for this year’s  West Africa Senior Secondary Certificate Examination.

The press statement which was released by the council on December 1, 2022 directed  candidates to access their results via its website online.

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) wishes to announce for the information of the general public that it has released provisional results of candidates who sat for the WASSCE for School Candidates, 2022 (Ghana Only Version). The Council has hosted the results online and candidates who so desire may access their results at the Council’s website www.waecgh.org.

The council also  disclosed that  some 8,486 candidates will be unable to access the site online due to a request by the  Ghana Education Service to punish students who destroyed school property and engaged in indiscipline activities.

The statement however, urged ” the affected candidates are advised to visit their schools for their results”.

Meanwhile, it was mentioned in the press released that ” A total number of 2,818 (0.67 %) of the candidates who registered were absent from the examination”.

CANCELLED RESULTS
(1)The Subject Results of 3,845 candidates have been cancelled for sending foreign material into the examination hall.
(2)The Entire Results of 518 candidates have been cancelled for sending mobile phones into the examination hall.
WITHHELD RESULTS
(1)The Entire Results of 117 candidates have been withheld pending the conclusion of investigations into alleged cases of impersonation detected during the examination.
(2)The scripts of candidates from 179 schools in certain subjects are being scrutinised for reported cases of collusion.
The withheld results of candidates may be cancelled or released based on the outcome of the investigations.

 

The statement concluded by advising candidates to beware of fraudsters and assured them of the authentication of the WAEC results.

Candidates are to note that all WAEC results are secured and can be authenticated using the results verification system or by downloading the WAECQR Code. Institutions are also urged to always verify results presented to them to expose incidents of forgery
