In a week filled with excitement, nostalgia, and a strong sense of community, University of Ghana School of Law’s (UGSoL) homecoming week ended today with a health walk and a food bazaar extravaganza.

The week-long festivities kicked off with a memorable alumni reunion, where former classmates reconnected, shared stories, and imparted their wisdom to the eager law students. The days that followed were filled with spirited sports competitions, talent shows, and a spirited debate and lecture from Supreme Court Judges that had the school buzzing with energy.

However, the main attraction was saved for the grand finale, with the School of Law transforming into a vibrant carnival-like atmosphere on Saturday, 4th November, 2023. The day began with a health walk that united students, alumni, and faculty members in their commitment through physical fitness. Participants marched through the scenic campus, promoting a healthy lifestyle while reminiscing about their time at the School of Law.

As the health walk concluded, a mesmerizing aroma wafted through the air, drawing everyone towards the heart of the event—the food bazaar. Booths lined with a diverse array of delectable dishes from around the world were set up, each representing different cultures and tastes. From spicy street tacos to decadent desserts, the food offerings were a feast for the senses.

Foods and games were the perfect combos to make the event memorable

To complement the mouthwatering dishes, a live band filled the air with music in the evening, that resonated with the attendees’ souls. People danced and sang along to the lively tunes, creating an atmosphere of sheer joy and togetherness.

An evening with a beautiful music was an exciting memory for the participants

The combination of delicious food, live music, and the company of old and new friends created an unforgettable experience. Homecoming week at the Schoose of Law had certainly reached its zenith, leaving everyone with cherished memories and a deep sense of pride for their institution.

The Dean of the School of Law, Prof. Raymond Atugubga, extended his gratitude to all participants of the week’s celebrations, further referring to the benefits of the events for the students at the faculty.

“It is such an honor to have great members of the faculty join us to celebrate and reunite as one. Prominent people here to speak with would not only motivate all the students but to tell them that at the end of the tunnel there is indeed light. We should all embrace the opportunity as we eat and dine with senior members.”

Speaking to Univers News, some students from the School of Law displayed excitement and pride of being part of the law school community. They were grateful to the management for the mobilization of the events and others expressed delight with the foods and drinks.

“I am soo happy to be here and enjoy with senior members. Seeing some members really inspire me to do more. I am even out of words but I know certainly that I am very happy to be here.”

As the day drew to an end, the Law School community reflected on the week’s festivities, appreciating the bonds they had formed and the traditions they upheld. It was a homecoming to remember, one that would be etched in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of being a part of this incredible event.
