#UGDecides: Run-off election scheduled for November 8

Students of the University of Ghana are set to go to the polls again on Tuesday, November 8,2022 after the general elections headed for a run off.

A statement released by the electoral Commission said the second phase of the elections will take place this Tuesday from 8 am to 5pm after the University of Ghana Computing System sends codes to students.

After the general elections held on November 1, 2022, none of the presidential candidates and the General Secretary candidates obtained 50+1 as stipulated by the UGSRC constitution to be declared president or General Secretary elect.

no student shall be elected as an executive officer unless the number of votes cast in his or her favour is more than fifty (50) percent of the total valid votes cast


The candidates in the presidential race are; Boakye Gyasi Martin and Lincoln Ohene and Samuel Ackom and Ramzy Fuseini

Vida Mintah and Emmanuella Boakye Yiadom will also battle it out for the general Secretary position.

The election will be held online with the assistance from the UGCS.
