The university of Ghana Business school launched the innovation and Incubation Hub on February 7, 2023 at the RS Amegashie hall in the university’s business school.

The UGBS Innovation and Incubation Hub is a centre inaugurated to raise and support young innovative entrepreneurs.
Speaking at the event, the Dean of the University of Ghana Business School, Dr. Justice Bawole emphasized the necessity of the Innovation and Incubation Hub at the UG Business School.
According to him, after several years of theoretical education in the business sector, the UGBS Innovation and Incubation Hub has come to change the narrative and unleash the potentials that students possess.

“In other parts of the world, this idea of teaching just theory changed many years ago. However, we have been stuck to teaching theory and so today, we are not giving a defense to say for example that we are not well funded by the state, industries has not supported us enough, that we have too many students and others. So we are here today to show to all of us that one we put our minds together we are able to address the major challenges we face as a country and as dean of the school I feel so proud that today we are able to get to where we are” Dr Bawole said.

Dr. Bawole highlighted plans of the UG Business School to expand its space for the hub through partnerships with relevant stakeholders, as they look forward to creating a hub to accommodate students all over the country and beyond.

“I should announce to you that concerning the partnership with G Pay, the basement at the university of Ghana Business school which is currently under renovation is being converted into a digital innovation hub to be connected with the innovation and Incubation Hub to have much more space but definitely that cannot contain about a hundred students at a sitting that is why we are looking ahead to see if we can do that. We hope to get support to allow us to have a more bigger facility that can contain a lot more students” Dr Bawole added.
