In today’s modern geography ,  every country has physical boundaries and where its land mass ends and where  the territory of another neighbouring country begins largely due to the artificial spaces created during the colonial era.

Whilst most of these boundaries are clearly marked and without controversy, others are very debatable and can cause issues between countries as well.

Ghana and its Western Neighbour, Ivory Coast have been through some tense moments over land boundaries and recently, the dispute over sea boundaries was settled after years of arbitration at the highly respected International Tribunal on the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) headquartered in Hamburg ,Germany.

Interestingly, both countries have largely enjoyed good relations over the years across the political history post independence as well.

There exists several porous border points between Ghana and Ivory Coast , some are walking distances from each other and separated by some interesting objects.

One of such close border points is currently trending due to  how a stone work foundation is the difference between the two countries and on e can use his or  her legs to step across the boundary.

In a photo trending on social media platforms, two gentlemen are standing in Ghana and Ivory Coast sections respectively and are exchanging handshakes to show how close the boundary is from both countries.
