Former vice president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Fred Pappoe, has said that he wouldn’t be astonished if incumbent president, Kurt Okraku, wins the upcoming GFA presidential elections to go for a second term in office.
Mr. Fred Pappoe indicated that Kurt Okraku has done quite some good works in his first tenure as the GFA boss even though there are areas he needs to do better and improve.
In an exclusive interview with Radio Univers on the Sports Express Show, on Saturday, June 3rd, 2023, the former GFA vice president said that although the elections is going to be an interesting one but he believes Kurt Okraku will triumph because of his good works in his first tenure.
“I would not know the measurement with which Mr. Okraku said he has over achieved, but what I can say is that I think they’ve done quite a lot of good works even though there are still some areas that they have to look at improving to make them better with respect to the number of areas they’ve been very good and firm I would say. Interestingly it been a good tenure even though there are few months left. They’ve done quite some good works but like I indicated, as with every human being or human institution there is still room for improvement to do better. It [ GFA elections] going to be an interesting elections, lets see how it goes, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he goes for a second term” he told Univer Sports.
Mr. Fred Pappoe added that he wouldn’t advise anybody with an ambition to contest for GFA presidential portfolio this year not to go ahead because he is a democratic person.
“I’m a very democratic person so I don’t see myself advising anybody contesting for any position in life not to go ahead and do it even if the opposition is very fierce, I wouldn’t say that so am not going to advise anybody not to contest,” he reiterated.
