The 2025 speaker for the Aggrey-Fraser-Guggisberg Memorial Lecture Series, Josephine Anan-Ankomah, has urged attendees to anticipate a thought-provoking and change-driven presentation at this year’s event.

In an exclusive interview on Campus Exclusive on Radio Univers, she emphasized that her lecture will challenge existing norms, uncover overlooked issues, and advocate for meaningful change.

Josephine assured attendees that her presentation would be insightful and impactful, featuring hard facts, bold ideas, and practical solutions designed to inspire and drive action.

“I will be challenging the status quo, exposing blind spots, and calling for real change. As someone working in the banking sector, I will first challenge my own institution. Expect hard facts, bold ideas, and real solutions—leaving everyone inspired, convinced, and ready to act.”

She also pointed out the absence of gender-disaggregated data in policy frameworks as a significant obstacle to advancing women’s financial empowerment.

“One key issue is that we lack gender-disaggregated data, and we have not integrated it effectively into our policy frameworks. This gap prevents us from adequately addressing how to support women.”

The Aggrey-Fraser-Guggisberg Memorial Lecture Series is an annual event organized by the University of Ghana to honor James Kwegyir Aggrey, Alexander Fraser, and Sir Gordon Guggisberg for their pivotal contributions to the establishment and growth of higher education in Ghana.

This year’s edition is scheduled for March 13 and 14 at 4:30 PM at the Great Hall of the University of Ghana. The event will also be broadcast live on Radio Univers 105.7 FM, starting at 4:00 PM each day.
