The Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) has called off their strike action with immediate effect.
This comes on the back of voting supervised by the National Executive Committee (NEC) in which the majority of CETAG members voted to call off the strike action.
According to CETAG President Prince Obeng-Himah out of the 46 Colleges of Education, 32 voted in favour of halting the strike, representing a significant majority of 69.57%.
“On the basis of the voting outcome above, the strike is suspended/call-off based on a majority decision with effect from Tuesday, 5th September 2023. CETAG shall advise itself if by 31st of October, 2023 all the Arbitral Awards have not been implemented by the Employer/Ministry of Education,” the statement read.
The Association has also communicated that all its members are expected to resume work by no later than Thursday, September 7, 2023.
CETAG commenced their protracted strike on August 1, citing the government’s failure to fulfil the NLC’s Arbitral Award Orders and the negotiated conditions of service since May 2, 2023, as the reason for their industrial action.
It will be recalled that the strike resulted in the Ministry of Education directing the Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD) to freeze the August 2023 salaries of CETAG members.

Great to see a dedicated page for Old Monk prices in Pune. It’s really helpful to have local rates for different sizes in one place. I would suggest adding a note on which liquor stores usually stock the 750ml bottle, as it’s sometimes hard to find.
