Dreams Fc will lock horns with FC Kallon of Sierra Leone in the first leg of second preliminary round of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Confederation Cup at the Accra Sports Stadium today at exactly 4pm.
The MTN Ghana FA Cup winners will automatically make it to the group stage of the tournament which is popularly known as the ‘money zone’ if they are able to beat FC Kallon.
Ahead of the big game today at the Accra Sports Stadium, Coach Winfred Dormon who serves as the assistant coach of the Ghanaian club has indicated that the primary objective of Dreams FC is to reach the money zone in the current CAF Confederation Cup.
Assistant coach Winfred Dormon also expressed their readiness towards the game and will make everything possible to lift the dying name of Ghana football high.
“Preparations have gone well, we have been very positive…yes, we had some minor hitches earlier on with some players, but the medical team has worked so hard; we are ready for this game.”
“We had our last training sessions [yesterday], Thursday [14/09/2023] at the Accra Sports Stadium and the team is looking very ready and we are very positive,” he added.
According to the Assistant coach, the game hold huge importance to not only the club’s history, but that of Ghana Football.
“It is a very big call for this club, a very important match so far as the history of this club is concerned, as well of that of Ghana football.”
The Ghanaian club is entering the match with a lot of confidence, having previously defeated Guinean side, Milo FC de Kankan in the last round of the tournament.
On the other hand, FC Kallon progressed to this round with a walkover after their scheduled match against AS Douanes of Senegal due to the latter’s inability to participate after some cancellations caused by some internal reasons.
Dreams FC are hoping to secure qualification to the group stage for the first time ever in their history.
