Ghanaian Boxer, Samuel Takyi has started training with the Black Bombers team as they prepare for the World Olympic Games boxing qualifiers that will take place in Italy next year.
The 22-year-old who won a bronze Medal for Ghana at the Tokyo 2022 Olympic Games was initially dropped from the team that participated in the Paris, 2024 Qualifiers in Senegal after demanding a promise payment of $20,000 from President Akufo-Addo.
However, the Ghanaian boxer has joined the Black Bombers team as they started training on Monday at the Accra Sports Stadium led by Technical Team Coach Dr. Ofori Asare.
In the meantime, Samuel pleaded with companies in Ghana to come to the aid of the Black Bombers team in terms of sponsorship for a smooth preparation.
“We need more help in the team, we need sponsorships from the big companies in Ghana like Special Ice, Rush Energy Drink, MTN, and others. We should be in camp too early before the Games.”
Finally, he also thanked the Ministry of Youth and Sports for their support to the team.
