Accra Hearts of Oak’s assistant coach Abdul Rahim Bashiru has emphasized the importance of the Phobians picking up maximum points in their remaining fixtures, after securing a 3-1 comeback victory over Karela United at the Accra Sports stadium tonight.

Hearts of Oak managed to dust themselves of the ground after falling behind early against Karela United, responding in a way that exudes the true meaning of their mojo, ‘Never Say die until the bones are rotten’.

A brace from Hamza Issah either side of half time and a Salif Adams screamer were enough to ensure the Phobians did put an end to their three game winless run in the league.

Issah scored his 10th and 11th league goals of the season against an opponent whom Hearts of Oak have never fancied playing, failing to record a win in their previous 7 attempts against Karela prior to tonight’s encounter.

Issah leads the golden boot race in the league with 11 goals, and features as the Phobian’s ‘go to man’ with 41% goals scored for the team.

In spite of this, the end of the game told a different story as Hearts of Oak seem to have burried the ghost of the past with a resounding comeback win, leaving assistant head coach Abdul Rahim Bashiru full of hubris heading into the business end of the season.

We’ve to congratulate them [players], they really play so well because we dominated since the blow of the whistle. Although Karela took us by surprise to take the lead, but we manage. They play according to the plan, so I’m happy for them and a good results… he said

They know [players] what the supporters need and they really give it to them…..We can’t afford to lose any match again, he added

The results takes the Phobians from the bottom half of the table into 10th position, a place ahead of arch rivals Kotoko, who face Dreams FC tomorrow at Dewu.
