The Sports and Wellness Directorate of the University of Ghana is set to host the first-ever Sports and Wellness Festival, an initiative aimed at educating and integrating freshers into the university community.

Scheduled for Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 6 AM at the Athletic Oval, this maiden edition will focus on the theme Nutrition and will feature Prof. Richmond Ayitey as the keynote speaker. The festival aims to highlight the importance of healthy living and physical activity in students’ academic and personal lives.

The event will include engaging activities such as:

A Walk and Campus Tour – helping freshers familiarize themselves with key locations on campus.

Aerobics Session – to energize participants after the walk.

A Boot Camp – designed to introduce students to fitness routines and wellness practices.

According to the Sports and Wellness Directorate, the festival is an opportunity for first-year students to not only learn about proper nutrition and wellness but also build friendships, de-stress, and develop a healthy lifestyle from the onset of their university journey.

Freshers and all interested students are encouraged to participate in this interactive and engaging experience.
