Ghana has moved 13 places up the pecking order in the latest Confederation of African Football Association( CAF) Rankings, after Dreams FC managed to reach the last four of the Confederation Cup.

Ghana, who were placed 27th as of 2023, have managed to climb 13 places into 14th position following the latest round of CAF knockout games.

The skyrocketing of Ghana has been down to the impressive display by Dreams FC, who have single-handedly lifted the West African nation and staked a claim for themselves as an emerging party pooper in African football.

After falling by a 3-0 aggregate scoreline at the hands of Zamalek in the Confederation Cup semi-final, the Dewu club have equally managed to earn themselves a reputable and decent spot on the rankings, finding themselves in the 22nd position.

The latest rankings from CAF comes after the CAF Champions League semi-final and CAF Confederation Cup semi-final, which fall in line with CAF’s 5-year club ranking system.

Meanwhile, Dreams FC managed to accumulate a total of 15 points, one behind Orlando Pirate and Etoile du Sahel, who have 16 points to their name.

The top 10 clubs comprise Al Ahly, Esperance Tunis, Wydad Ac, Mamelodi Sundowns, Zamalek, Rs Berkane, Simba Sc, Petro De Luanda, Tp Mazembe, and Cr Belouizdad.

Subsequently, the top 10 highest-ranked club nations include Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, South Africa, Tunisia, Tanzania, DR Congo, Angola, Sudan and Libya.

Per the CAF rankings, the top 12 highest-ranked nations will have 4 representatives in CAF competitions next season, of which Ghana falls short.
