Matchday 10 brought another round of thrilling action in the University of Ghana Corporate Football League, with teams fighting hard for points as the season edges closer to its climax. From narrow escapes to dominant wins and dramatic derbies, the day’s fixtures had it all. Here’s a breakdown of how each game played out:
Ghana Civil Aviation Authority 1–0 Central Administration
GCAA edged Central Administration in a tightly contested match, thanks to a first-half goal. Prince Aboagye delivered a superb free-kick that found Ebenezer Kulley, who headed home with precision. GCAA set the tempo early and held a high line throughout. Central Administration piled on pressure late in the game, but the Aviation side held firm to secure all three points.
Bui Power Authority 0–3 Forestry Commission
Forestry Commission produced a commanding performance to dispatch Bui Power 3-0. Although Bui Power started on the front foot, they couldn’t breach Forestry’s solid defense. Gradually, Forestry grew into the game, scoring just before halftime and sealing the win with two late goals in the final minutes to round off an emphatic display.
Stanbic Bank 2–2 Zenith Bank
The eagerly anticipated Banking Derby delivered on all fronts. Zenith Bank struck first with an early penalty converted by their captain. Stanbic responded with two quick goals, including an early second-half strike that put them in the lead. But just when it looked like Stanbic would take the win, Zenith snatched a dramatic late equalizer to ensure the points were shared.
Lancaster Accra 0–1 National Petroleum Authority (NPA)
NPA handed Lancaster Accra their first loss of the tournament in a match full of energy and attacking intent. Both teams looked eager to score, but it was NPA who broke the deadlock with the only goal of the game. Lancaster pushed hard for an equalizer but were ultimately denied by a resilient NPA defense.
Union Ghana 1–0 GNPC
Union Ghana continued their winning momentum with a unique 1-0 victory over GNPC. The game’s only goal came in unexpected fashion — a long clearance from the center line bounced over the GNPC goalkeeper and into the net. Despite efforts from Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu’s side, GNPC couldn’t find a response as Union held on to maintain their strong form.
