Business companies Perez Ice and Trupals.com, have made donations to the Dean of Student’s Affairs food bank project.

The food bank initiative by the Office of the Dean of Students’ Affairs is intended at alleviating food poverty among needy students in the university community.

The items donated included several bags of water, bags of rice, packs of tomato paste, packs of detergents, and soft tissues.

Speaking to Univers News, Chief Executive Officer of Perez Ice and Trupals.com William Tekpor shared the inspiration behind the organization’s donation to the food bank project.

“We saw it as part of our social responsibility to champion this course. Today, we are here to support this great initiative with our water that we produce and also make the students aware of Trupals.com.”

Mr. Tekpor further called on other organizations, corporate bodies and individuals to come on board to contribute to the Dean’s food bank project.

“…embarking on this should serve as a motivating factor to the corporate world that they should also come on board; I can confidently say that a lot of people who own organizations in the country have passed through this school before so it will be very laudable if they can also channel their efforts to this project.”

“Then again, all those who have great ideas and support in terms of cash or kind can also channel them to our organization, Perez Ice and Trupals.com because we are also students and their coming in will help us do bigger things. So, we are calling on all corporate bodies to also support us so that at times like this, we can also give to our students.”

He also urged the beneficiaries of the food bank project to receive the distributed items in good faith and wish prosperity for the donors to make them capable of donating on several other occasions.

“We entreat [beneficiaries] to use the items properly because nowadays we all know how tough the economy is so anything that they get, no matter how small it is, they should utilize it and also pray for those who donated those items that their businesses will flourish so that next time, they can be able to provide again or give back to the society.”

Trupals.com is a student-based organization aimed at championing the entrepreneurship skills of students as well as serving students with all the necessary information and guidance needed to navigate the university of Ghana without stress.

Perez Ice is also a water producing company with the targeted consumers being students. Its main goal is to make every bag of water produced very affordable and accessible by every student.
