The Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research, Innovation and Development (RID) at the University of Ghana (UG), Professor Felix Ankomah Asante, has urged staff of the university to remain dedicated to its mission while assuring them that management has taken note of their concerns.
Speaking on Day 1 of the maiden UG Employee Week Celebration—which featured a float from the UG Sports Stadium to the Great Hall on Monday, November 17—he emphasized that the unity of staff remains the University’s greatest strength.
“We are one university, one workforce — and our strength lies in our unity,” he noted.
Prof. Asante also responded to concerns raised by staff associations, stressing that management is aware of the issues and is committed to addressing them.
“Management is aware of your concerns and is committed to addressing them with urgency and respect,” he added.
He further commended staff and encouraged them to continue upholding the University’s high standards.
“Your hard work and commitment are the backbone of the University of Ghana. Let’s continue upholding the high standards that define this institution,” he stated.
The theme for the 2025 celebration, “One UG, One Workforce: Celebrating Excellence”, reflects the collective spirit of unity, teamwork, and appreciation for the contributions of every member of the UG community.
