UG: Keep working hard – Valedictorian to Students

Valedictorian for the College of Humanities, Bachelor of Science in Administration (Accounting Option) class of 2022/23, Mr. Jacklord Agyabeng Amponsah is encouraging students to work hard to achieve academic excellence.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with UniversNews, Jacklord advised current undergraduate students to work hard in their academics. He also urged the students to create a balance in their academic life and their extracurricular activities.

“Keep on working hard. How do you make peace to continue working hard? And always remember that without God, you can’t do anything. So depend on God, make sure there’s a balance between your academic life and your extracurricular activities, and you will do well.”

Jacklord also shared his excitement over his journey through the university. He described his academic life as interesting.

He also expressed gratitude to God for seeing him through his academic journey.

“I can’t put it into words. I’m speechless, but I’m very excited, and I’m grateful to God, grateful to everyone who helped me along my journey. It’s been an interesting journey from level 100. We thought accounting was the normal SHS accounting we were doing, only to come and meet IFRS standards and different things altogether. But by God’s grace, we were able to see it through.”

Jacklord Agyabeng Amponsah graduated the University of Ghana as valedictorian for the College of Humanities, Bachelor of Science in Administration (Accounting Option)for the 2023 batch of graduands with an enviable Final Grade Point Average of 3.93.

He had previously been awarded several best-student titles including Best Accounting Student as well as Best Economics Student back in his alma mater, Presbyterian Secondary School-Legon.

Jackord was also an active member of the Accounting Students Association (ASA) where he joined the ASA quiz team and participated in many quiz competitions.

He also served as Head of the Pentecost Students Association (PENSA) during his time in University.
