The third edition of Swishfest comes off at the University of Ghana Basketball Court on Saturday, December 6, 2025

Swishfest, the annual basketball showcase organized by DC Dynamics, is set to tip off on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the University of Ghana (UG) Basketball Court.

The director and head coach of the club, Feranmi Olunloyo, confirmed that this year’s edition marks the event’s third run—one that has steadily grown in popularity and now attracts hundreds of basketball fans and students to the Legon campus.

In an exclusive interview with Univers Sports, Coach Feranmi explained the vision behind the event.

“Swishfest is a basketball tournament, but it is a fan experience event, where we bring the six best basketball teams in the country to give the fan a great experience,” he said.

He also urged Ghanaians to follow the local basketball scene, extending an open invitation to the public to come and watch Swishfest.

“If you don’t follow basketball on the local scene, then you are really missing out,” Coach Feranmi noted. “If you are a fan of basketball, this is the best way to enjoy the sport in the country at the moment.”

Coach Feranmi also highlighted a mouthwatering fixture involving the University of Ghana men’s basketball team—who enter the competition as the dominant side, having won the last two editions of Swishfest—squaring off with the Spintex Knights, currently considered the team to beat.

“We will have Spintex Knights—who arguably are the best team in Ghana right now—going against the reigning champions, the University of Ghana basketball team, among others.”

Aside from the University of Ghana team and their fierce rivals, Spintex Knights, the competition will also feature Tusk Foundation, first runners-up in the recently concluded Accra Basketball League; Nungua Coldstore, champions of the Tema Basketball League; the Ayeduase Snipers from Kumasi; and Tudu Magic.

This year’s edition promises to highlight basketball’s growing impact through vibrant community activations, youth-centered entertainment, and the fusion of the sport with urban culture.

He  added that this year’s edition will also feature performances from artistes including Joey B and Ablekuma Nana Lace, among others—adding an entertaining edge to the on-court action.
