After beating Mali by 2-1 at the Stade du 26 Mars yesterday, Otto Addo and his new look Black Stars team arrived in Kumasi in the early hours of Friday morning, shifting their focus to Monday’s game against the Central African Republic (CAR).

The Black Stars, who outwitted the Malians after an impressive second half display, currently place 2nd in group I’s World Cup qualifying standings, moving level on points (6) with group leaders, Comoros, who have a game in hand.

The immediate focus of the team after a spirited display against Mali is on the Central African Republic, with no notable injuries recorded after defeating Mali in Bamako.

Although Alidu Seidu was spotted moving gingerly and hobbling a bit, the right back is expected to be fit for the team’s subsequent training sessions.

Ghana, after Jordan Ayew and Ernest Nuamah catapulted the team from 5th into 2nd, are in contention for a 5th World cup bow after previous appearances in 2006, 2010, 2014 & 2022.

The game against Central African Republic is scheduled for Monday, June 10, 2024, at the raucous Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
