Former teammates to deliberate on legacy plans for Christian Atsu- Agyemang Badu

Former black stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu said teammates of the late Christian Atsu are in the process of discussing the best way to honor his legacy.

The 34 year old former Chelsea, New Castle and Hatayspor player made 64 appearances for Ghana and scored nineteen goals.

Atsu was also named the best player at the 2015 African cup of nations after his blistering performances propelled the senior national team to the finals of the competition but lost to Ivory Coast in the finals on penalties.

Agyemang Badu indicated that former teammates of the late Christian Atsu will be meeting to decide on what would be the appropriate thing to do to honor him and they will do so by cooperating with the Twasam family in order to take the right decision

“The footballers too we are having meeting maybe this week to see what we can do for our late brother, you can not just do it alone you need to collaborate with the family to tell us what we need to do and where we need to do certain type of things.

so right now we are just focusing on celebrating his one week from this week going if anything comes on board we will let the media know.” Agyemang Badu said

The former black stars midfield Dynamo also revealed that their focus now is to console the bereaved family and as time goes on other associations and bodies will be meeting over legacy plans for the late Christian Atsu

“Is something I think PFAG will sit down and think about it because we have the president and the secretary, we will have a meeting and see what we can do about it but right now we need to help the family to console them and to have a befitting burial for our brother” He told the media.

The final funeral rites of the late Christian Atsu is slated for March 17 at the forecourt of the state house in fulfilment of government’s commitment to ensure the late black stars players gets a befitting burial.
