The Presidency will on Tuesday, September 10, hold a media encounter at the Jubilee House to address key national issues.
The event, scheduled for 8:00 p.m., will give members of the media the opportunity to engage President John Dramani Mahama on pressing concerns that have arisen in the first few months of his new administration.
In a statement dated September 8 and signed by the Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Presidency described the return of the Presidential press encounters as part of government’s unwavering commitment to accountability.
“The Presidency will play host to media houses in the country for an engagement scheduled for Wednesday, September 10, at 8 p.m. to address pressing issues across various sectors in the past few months of the new government. It falls in line with the core aim of the Mahama-led government to be accountable in all forms to the Ghanaian populace for the massive endorsement given the NDC by voters on December 7 last year,” the statement said.
The release further indicated that only accredited media houses will be allowed entry to the event.
According to the government, the encounter forms part of a broader series of initiatives aimed at deepening transparency and bringing governance closer to the people in line with its reset agenda.
