Police invite Shatta Wale over posts on Fennec Okyere’s murder

The Ghana Police Service has invited Ghanaian dancehall sensation Shatta Wale over his claims on social media to have information that allegedly makes Bullgod, his former manager complicit in the death of artiste manager, Fennec Okyere in 2014.

In a press statement signed by the Director of Public Affairs at the Ghana Police Service, Chief Superintendent of Police, Grace Ansah Asare, the police have contacted Shatta Wale over his tweets and he is cooperating the police.

“The attention of the Ghana Police Service has been drawn to a tweet by Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr., popularly known as Shata Wale regarding the death of artiste Manager Fennec Okyere.

The Police have made contact with Shata Wale who is cooperating with us on the matter.”

The statement by the police further revealed that the police have been working for months on some unresolved murder cases which includes that of the late Fennec Okyere. They said Shatta Wale’s comments will assist in the ongoing investigation into the murder case

The Police would like to put on record that the recently established Cold Case Unit, has been working for months on all unresolved murder cases, including that of Fennec Okyere with support from the affected families.

This new development from Shata Wale is therefore going to complement our ongoing investigation.

The Police expressed gratitude to the  families for their cooperation and understanding while assuring public of the police service’s commitment to resolving the murder cases to bring closure to these cases.

” We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the families who have been working with the Cold Case Unit since its establishment for their cooperation and understanding. 6. We wish to assure the public that the Police will continue to work relentlessly on these cases in order to bring closure to the affected families”

Shatta Wale’s recent post on Facebook claimed that artiste manager, Nana Asiamah Hanson popularly known as Bull Dog, told him something about the murder of the late Okyere.

Following Shatta Wale’s post, Kwaw Kese in an Instagram post also called on the police to invite both Shatta Wale and Bull Dog, to assist with investigation concerning the murder.

For him, he believes Shatta wale and Bull Dog know something about his boss’ death that others don’t know.

Shatta Wale’s post attracted attention with many calling on the Police to take the necessary action.
