Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko player Augustine Sefah has described new signing  Mohammed Alhassan  formerly of Hearts of oak as an experienced player who will contribute immensely to the club.

Mohammed Alhassan signed for Kotoko after leaving  Accra Hearts of Oak following the expiration of his contract. The Phobians failed to renew the contract of the player hence his free transfer move to join the Porcupine warriors.

According to the Ex Kotoko player, the new signing has leadership qualities that will help guide the younger ones in the team and improve upon their performance.

Speaking exclusivesly to  univers sports, Augustine revealed that Mohammed Alhassan’s quality will beef up the team and enhance their performance.

Asante Kotoko is one of the biggest clubs in Ghana and even in Africa. So as a centre back because at times if there is pressure on the field of play youneed someone who will be a leader, a coach is not the coach on the bench but on the field  of play who will be a leader. He will be directing the young ones have not been in the system for so long. Mohammed Alhassan has been in different league centers.

Kotoko has signed an experienced player who is matured, understanding of the game is there so I think Kotoko has acquired a center back who will contribute a lot to their team whenever they get the opportunity to play in the CAF confederations cup or champions league he will help the team. Sefa told univers sports.

He also commended the performance of the team in the first round of the league for placing second and also urged the players to lift their game in the second round of the Betpawa premier league.

The guys have done very well, though the first round has ended and they are second on the league log I think the boys have done very well but there is more room for improvement. In the second round they have to lift their game, performance and encourage themselves because winning Ghana premier league is not easy so when they are second they are chasing the first team and the third team is also chasing them so they need to improve. If Kotoko does not win the league it will be an issue for the fans, for the team and everybody who is supporting the team so I am encouraging them to lift their game so that in the second round they will do better than what they did in the first round. Augustine Sefa said.

Kotoko finished the first round of the Betpawa premier league with 29 points placing second with just a point behind league leaders Aduana Stars.
