Hansi Flick and Barcelona have reached an agreement for the German International to become men’s first-team football coach until 30 June 2026. The new coach signed the contract today at the club’s offices accompanied by FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta; the first vice president responsible for the sporting area, Rafa Yuste, and the club’s sporting director, Anderson Luís de Souza, Deco.
Flick will be replacing Xavi Hernadez at the helm of the managerial role for the Catalan giants, following the shocking dismissal of the Spaniard by the club’s board.
Flick’s records and achievements with Bayern:
It didn’t take Hansi Flick long to get his name into the FC Bayern history books. The 56-year-old spent 19 months as head coach at the 6-time Champions League holders and it was a time marked by terrific football, countless goals, and seven titles – including a treble and sextuple.
During Flick’s tenure at Bayern, he led the Bavarians to two Bundesliga titles, as well as triumphs in the DFB Cup, the Champions League, the Club World Cup, the German Supercup, and the UEFA Super Cup.
Flick won an incredible 70 of his 86 matches with his team, giving him a win rate of 81% – a record for a Bayern coach in professional football.
Hansi Flick is best remembered for leading Bayern to the sextuple in 2020, matching Josep Guardiola’s achievement with Barça in 2009.
