TPG Ghana men’s Tennis number 2 seed, Johnson Acquah has called on corporate Ghana and other benevolent individuals to invest in the Tennis Professionals Ghana tours to improve the standards of Tennis in Ghana.

He revealed this in an exclusive interview with Univers Sports ahead of the Tenis Tours on January 25, 2023.

According to him, Tenis players are not being appreciated in the country, influencing their performance. He is therefore calling on  corporate Ghana and other private individuals  to  support the TPG tours in order to improve the standards Tennis  and its players in Ghana.

“The upcoming tour we are about playing there is no prize money, it is a sakora tournament we are going to play now but everyone is talking about the prize money yet we haven’t gotten a good answer, I don’t know what is going on now. We want to tell the big men in the country to come and support tennis and they need to come and watch good tennis during their leisure. I don’t think we have money in our coffers, we need the support for now”. He added.

Johnson Acquah  also shared his readiness ahead of the TPG tours on January 25, 2022

I’ve been going to the beach every morning before I go to the tennis. I am well prepared to win everything this year, so I am doing all I’m supposed to do to get healthy to face everything on the court. Last year I was not focused, I had issues at home so all these stuffs played against me. My mind was not on the court sometimes when I am playing.

In order to recapture Ghana’s top seed, Johnson Acquah  says  he will be looking forward to a successful tour this year.
