The National Chapters Committee (NCC) of Accra Hearts of Oak has raised concerns over what it describes as recurring poor officiating in the Ghana Premier League.

In a statement dated March 2, 2026, the committee, which represents the club’s various supporters’ groups, called on the Ghana Football Association and the Referees Appointment Committee to address what it believes are repeated questionable decisions involving the club.

According to the committee, previous appeals to the relevant authorities have not resulted in any significant improvement. It argued that such decisions are not only affecting Hearts of Oak but are also undermining the credibility and integrity of the league.

The statement highlighted two recent matches as examples. During their Matchday 23 fixture against Berekum Chelsea at the University of Ghana Stadium in the Ghana Premier League, the committee accused referee Jacob Aduntera of failing to award what it described as a clear penalty to Hearts of Oak, an incident it believes brought the game into disrepute.

The committee also cited the club’s Matchday 24 encounter against Bibiani Gold Stars at Dun’s Park, claiming that the Phobians once again suffered from questionable officiating decisions.

While reiterating its opposition to hooliganism and urging supporters to remain calm, the committee cautioned that repeated incidents could discourage fans from attending matches and make it difficult for supporters’ leadership to mobilise fans to stadiums.

The statement concluded by calling for immediate and decisive action from the relevant authorities to ensure fairness, transparency and professionalism in officiating, while restoring confidence in the league.
