Guinness Ghana Breweries backs Women’s football development ahead of new season

The highly anticipated 2024/25 Ghana Women’s Premier League season was officially launched today, Tuesday,15th October,2024 at the Ghana Football Association( GFA) Conference room.The ceremony was attended by key stakeholders, players, and officials.

At the event, Marketing Manager of Guinness Ghana Breweries, the league’s main sponsor, Mrs Diana Asabea Darko emphasized the company’s commitment to empowering women through sports.

“The reason why Malta Guinness decided to take this bold step to come and partner the Ghana Football Association to support and to elevate the Women’s Premier League is because at Malta Guinness,we believe in creating a can-do world.A world that people are nourished and energized to be able to achieve their dreams and aspirations and beyond Malta Guinness as a brand, Guinness Ghana is very committed to diversity and inclusion we’re all for supporting women to deliver,or bring value to the business and the society at large. So for us ,the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League was a fine opportunity for us to come in as an organization that believes in diversity and inclusion to come and empower these women. We understand that many sports is male dominated,but for us ,we see that the women’s football has great potential, and with the right support we can develop it”.

The 2024/25 Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League promises excitement and growth, thanks to Guinness Ghana Breweries’ commitment. With their support, Ghana’s female footballers will inspire a nation, proving that with determination and opportunity, anything is possible.
