Yaw Sakyi Afari, head of RITE Sports Services, the marketers and producers of the University of Ghana Corporate Football League, is advising students to leverage the League’s inaugural event as a platform to connect with key industry players and unlock potential pathways for their future careers after completion.
In an exclusive interview with Universports, Mr. Sakyi disclosed that his team has collaborated with the University of Ghana’s Student Representative Council (UGSRC) to promote the event and raise awareness among the student body.
“We’ve started a conversation with the SRC to see how we can work with them to drive awareness amongst the student population, to come and, first of all, enjoy these games, and then also to network with these corporate organizations. In a few years, they will be graduating and will be sending their CVs to these various institutions. And so now we’re giving you the opportunity to get to know them, to build relationships within these organizations. And so I believe that when you go and you distinguish yourself doing your national service, it shouldn’t be too difficult for you to be retained or to gain employment in these various institutions”- he said.
The much-awaited University of Ghana Corporate League, featuring sixteen (16) corporate bodies, is set to deliver twenty (20) weeks of exciting football, starting this February and concluding in July.
The matches will take place under the floodlights at the University of Ghana Stadium, with the event designed to foster stronger connections between corporate organizations and the university community, while also promoting health and sportsmanship.
