The government, through the Ministry of Education, has revealed that it has submitted all 2021 Ghana Accountability for Learning Outcomes Projects (GALOP) reports to the World Bank despite the delay on the part of the Ghana Audit Service.
A statement issued on Sunday, October 30, 2022, by the Ministry and signed by the Spokesperson, Kwesi Kwarteng, said all reports had been finalized, and the World Bank has confirmed receipt.
“The Ghana Audit Service is responsible for the audit of GALOP. It took longer than expected for the audit to be completed. However, subsequent to the notice from the World Bank, the report has been finalized and completed. The World Bank has confirmed receipt.”
The World Bank, on October 21, issued a statement signed by the World Bank Country Director, Pierre Laporte, threatening Ghana that it will be forced to initiate action if the government in 30 days fails to submit an audited financial report on GALOP.
Ghana was to submit an audited report of GALOP within six months after the end of one fiscal year in accordance with the Financial Agreement but failed to do that 10 months after the end of the fiscal year.
