Ghanaian music star Black Sherif has earned his first-ever nomination at the 2025 Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards, cementing his growing influence on the global music scene.
The Kwaku the Traveller hitmaker is nominated in the Best International Act category, where he will face stiff competition from a diverse group of global talents including Tyla (South Africa), Rema and Ayra Starr (Nigeria), Any Gabrielly and MC Luanna (Brazil), Uncle Waffles (Swaziland), Basky and Ezra Collective (UK), Joé Dwèt Filé and SDM (France).
Though this is his debut at the main BET Awards, Black Sherif is no stranger to the brand he was nominated and won at the BET Hip Hop Awards in 2023, a nod that introduced him to a wider international audience.
He now joins the ranks of celebrated Ghanaian acts such as Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, R2Bees, Kojo Antwi, Kwesi Arthur, Fuse ODG, MzVee, Camidoh and D Black, who have represented Ghana at the BETs over the years.
Meanwhile, his sophomore album, Iron Boy, continues to make waves, dominating charts and reinforcing his reputation as one of Africa’s most compelling new voices.
