The summit is set to take place at the RS Amegashie Auditorium in the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) on the 24th of March, 2023, from 9:00 am to 12 noon.

Topics of concern at the summit will include Real Estate, Entrepreneurship, Investment, Internship Incubation and Mentorship.

Speaking to UniversNews, NUGS Secretary for Innovation Entrepreneurship and Skills Development, Amin Mohammed explained that the summit is aimed at providing opportunities for the youth’s involvement in real estate entrepreneurship.

According to him, the summit will also help the youth understand how to thrive in the real estate industry without huge capital intensiveness.

“Many youth have the perception that real estate industry is highly capital intensive, and if you don’t have money you don’t venture into such an industry. But recently, there’s been a law that has been passed in parliament that every real estate purchase or investment must go through a brokerage. And do, the establishment of brokerage firms enable makes it possible for an individual who is not even a real estate person get to know and understand the industry and how they can tap into the new side of it. We are looking at real estate without huge capital intensiveness. That is why we have decided to organize this [summit] to avail the opportunities in the real estate industry to the various  youth and student across the country. This is the first of its kind happening in Accra.”

Amin Mohammed went on to reveal that there are opportunities for students to gain in-depth knowledge in the brokerage aspect of real estate business at the UGBS Incubation Hub after the summit.

“We want students to expect the reality on the grounds when it comes to real estate entrepreneurship and its opportunities. This is not just a [summit] we are organizing. We have partnered with the UGBS Incubation Hub [so that] after the [summit], students who are interested will be selected to go through incubation for two months at the Incubation Hub. The incubation period is to teach them the industry, how they can tap into it and how they can operate as brokers in the real estate industry. After the two months period, they shall be distributed as interns to the various partners, and also, probably within a period of three months, which will probably yield some positive employment results for some of them since it is a new venture coming up.”

Minister for Works and Housing, Hon. Francis Asenso-Boakye is set to appear at the summit as the Guest of Honor.
