Hisense Ghana donates vehicles and motorbikes to boost security at the University of Ghana

Hisense Ghana, in collaboration with the Ayawaso West Municipal Assembly, has donated two pickup vehicles and ten motorbikes to the University of Ghana Safety and Security Services Directorate to enhance security operations on campus.

The donation, made on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, is aimed at improving safety and strengthening security operations within the university community.

Speaking to Univers News, Deputy Director of Operations at the Safety and Security Services Directorate, Seidu Iddrisu, said the equipment will significantly improve security operations and patrol duties on campus.

“It is going to have an impact on the operations of the security positively because there will be enough vehicles for patrol duties, and that will enhance security operations,” he said.

The Registrar of the University of Ghana, Mrs. Emelia Naa Kwantsua Agyei-Mensah, also expressed appreciation to Hisense Ghana for the gesture.

“I express profound appreciation to the Chief Executive Officer and Management of Hisense for the very generous donation of two pickup vehicles and 10 motorbikes to support the University and especially the work of our relatively new Safety and Security Services Directorate,” she said.

She noted that the donation will strengthen the university’s security and emergency response systems, adding that service delivery will be improved across campus.

“The vehicles and the motorbikes will definitely strengthen our security and emergency response systems, enhance the mobility of our security officers, and improve service delivery regarding safety and security across the university community,” she said.

Mrs. Agyei-Mensah assured that the equipment will be properly maintained and used for its intended purpose.

“We are going to make sure that the vehicles and the motorcycles donated today are well maintained and used for the purpose for which they have been donated,” she said.

The donation is expected to boost patrol operations and enhance safety within the university community.
