Ghanaian music sensation, Black Sherif emerged as the biggest winner at the 27th edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards, taking home the coveted Artiste of the Year award.

He triumphed over strong contenders including Medikal, Wendy Shay and Sarkodie.

The star-studded ceremony, held at the Grand Arena, brought together some of the biggest names in Ghana’s entertainment industry, including musicians, producers, content creators, and other creative stakeholders.

The event celebrated the richness of Ghanaian music, culture and artistic excellence.

In addition to winning Artiste of the Year, Black Sherif secured four other awards on the night:

Hip Hop Song of the Year — Where Dem Boyz

Album of the Year — Iron Boy

Songwriter of the Year

This achievement marks another major milestone in Black Sherif’s career, as he joins an elite group of musicians, including Sarkodie, to have won the Artiste of the Year title twice. At just 24 years old, Black Sherif also becomes the youngest artiste to achieve this feat.

A Journey Defined by Excellence

A year later, in 2023, he further cemented his place in the industry by winning the TGMA Artiste of the Year award for the first time, becoming one of the youngest musicians to claim Ghana’s highest music honour at just 21 years old.

Since then, Black Sherif has continued to dominate the music scene with a string of successful releases and standout performances.

Following his historic win, fans and industry players flooded social media with congratulatory messages, celebrating what many have described as another defining moment in his career.
