Hearts of Oak coach Aboubakar Quattara believes his team will keep defying skeptics following their home victory against Legon Cities in Matchday 16 of the Ghana Premier League.

Hearts of Oak secured a vital 1-0 victory over Legon Cities on Friday night at the University of Ghana Stadium, moving to second place on the table, just two points adrift of leaders Heart of Lions.

In a post match interview, Coach Aboubakar Ouattara admitted that his team faced challenges, especially in the first half.

“Some people say we have a weak team, but we are playing. Every match is a challenge to Hearts of Oak. For now, we need to target maximum points from every game,” he said.

“It is normal to lose the 50/50 balls. When the other team is fighting, you also have to fight, but we didn’t fight in the first half. Fortunately, we got the chance to score,” he added.

The defeat exacerbates Legon Cities’ difficulties, leaving them with just 11 points from 16 matches. It also marked the debut of new coach Yaw Acheampong on the bench.
