In a significant development, the Accra High Court has directed the West African Examination Council (WAEC) to release the withheld results of certain candidates, sparking relief among affected students and parents.

WAEC recently has faced criticism for withholding the results of some candidates due to alleged examination irregularities, raising concerns about fairness, transparency, and consistency in its examination processes.

The Accra High Court’s order comes as welcome news to candidates who had their results withheld, pending investigation into alleged examination malpractices.

While WAEC has not officially commented on the court’s decision, affected candidates and parents celebrate the ruling.

The development also raises questions about the fairness and transparency of WAEC’s examination processes.

Meanwhile, critics argue that the council’s withholding of results without proper investigation can be unjust and detrimental to students’ prospects. “WAEC must ensure that its processes are fair, transparent, and in the best interest of students,” said an education activist.
