The Interim Electoral Commission for the University of Ghana Students’ Representative Council (UGSRC) has officially announced the postponement of the runoff elections, which were initially scheduled for today, September 24, 2024.
The elections were only hours from conclusion when the decision was made. According to the Commission, the postponement is due to unforeseen circumstances beyond their control.
In a statement released by the Interim Electoral Commissioner, Mary Azure, the Commission expressed regret over the inconvenience this change may cause the student body.
Students were however assured that efforts are underway to resolve the situation promptly as a new date for the runoff elections will be communicated in due course.
