In support of the Inter-hall games at the University of Ghana (UG), Vice President of the Political Science Student Association (POSSA) of the University, Jeffery Adu-Yeboah made some donations to the UG sports directorate on November 29 with some essential items.
The donation was a collaboration with Perez Ice, Trupals.com and Unica Bone Setters and Herbal Center, which was subsequently received by the Director of the directorate, Dr. Bella Bello Bitugu. He expressed his uttermost gratitude at the affectionate gesture carried out by the POSSA Vice President.
Donated items included100 bags of water, 20 first aid items and dustbins.
Speaking to Univers Sports in an exclusive interview, Jeffery Adu-Yeboah revealed that the inadequacy of student participating in the inter-hall games to receive appropriate funding and sponsorship propelled his initiative.
“So I realized that members of the University community were participating in inter-hall games that was going on at the athletic oval. And then as far as members of University of Ghana or students of our school are participating, I felt like they’ll need stuff like water, first aid and these dustbins in the course of the game.”
“So… I decided to help these teams from the various halls so that they’ll be able to find it more convenient throughout the inter-hall games competitions,” he said.
He also spoke on how the various sponsorship groups were equally enthusiastic and non-hesitant to assisting the athletes in the UG inter hall games, hence their warm welcome of the initiative.
“So I reached out to these sponsoring companies and informed them about my desire to help these sporting teams participating in the competition and then they decided to come on board to sponsor this sports competition with these donations,” he added.
Meanwhile, the UG inter-hall games reached its crescendo, with the various disciplines set to conclude in the forth coming week.
