The Volta River Authority (VRA) emerged champions of the maiden University of Ghana Corporate Tennis Championship after defeating GOIL 9–5 in the grand finale at the University of Ghana Tennis Courts on Saturday, October 25, 2025.
The event, organised by the University of Ghana Sports and Wellness Directorate in partnership with Rite Sports Services, featured four top corporate institutions including GOIL, Stanbic Bank, the Volta River Authority (VRA), and the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).
Before the main matches, spectators were treated to an exciting curtain-raiser between Team VC—comprising the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, and the President of the Ghana Tennis Federation, Isaac Aboagye Duah—and Team Aryeetey, which featured the Vice-Chancellor’s daughter, Maame Araba Amfo, and President of the Nkabom Collaborative, Professor Richmond Aryeetey. Team VC won the entertaining encounter 6–2.

After the round-one clashes, VRA and GOIL advanced to the finals, where VRA triumphed 9–5 to clinch the title.
The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority finished third, while Stanbic Bank placed fourth.
The tournament promoted wellness, networking, and camaraderie among Ghana’s corporate bodies while showcasing their enthusiasm for sport.
