The University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) and the Technical University Teachers Association of Ghana (TUTAG) have threatened to strike following a meeting with the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) this morning.

Citing bad faith, contempt, and a lackadaisical attitude from the FWSC, UTAG and TUTAG expressed their refusal to tolerate disrespect and a lack of commitment towards improving their conditions of service.

The associations warned that the voices of university lecturers would soon be heard in what they described as a manner best understood by the employer/government, hence their desire to set off on a strike.
