The University of Ghana Student Representative Council’s (UGSRC) Electoral Commission has indefinitely postponed the scheduled vetting of aspirants which was set to take place on Tuesday, 30th July, 2024.

In a letter released on the same day, the EC attributed the postponement to inadequate security arrangements.

The EC further apologised for the inconvenience the postponement might have caused to relevant stakeholders and assured that further details on the vetting would be announced duly.

“The Electoral Commission wishes to inform all students and relevant stakeholders that the vetting process for SRC Executive Officer aspirants has been postponed until further notice. This decision has been made due to inadequate arrangement for security by the Commission, the Legon Security and the Ghana Police.”

“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this postponement may cause. We will communicate a new date for the vetting process as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding.”
