The newly elected Junior Common Room (JCR) President of the Alexander Kwapong Hall, Samuel Ackom, has revealed that there have been engagements with the University of Ghana Computer Systems (UGCS) to improve the WIFI situation in the hall.

This was in response to Kwapong Hall residents complaining over the difficulty in connecting to the school’s WIFI due to the renovation works in the hall.

In an interview with UniversNews, Samuel Ackom stated that work is in progress to address the situation among other issues students were facing, such as the absence of light in some rooms.

“We’ve already started, I think, a couple of days ago we did some rounds. People who were not having lights, we ensured that they got their lights back and all of that. We’ve also started engagements with the University of Ghana Computer Systems (UGCS) to improve upon the WiFi situation in [Kwapong] hall.”

He added that his administration has established the neccessary structures and institutions to aid in the smooth administration of hall activities since his induction on Friday, March 3, 2023. He further noted that it has been the administration’s priority to ensure the various committees are appointed and that parliament is integrated.

“We have been setting up structures and strong institutions that are going to aid in the administration and help foster strong institutional culture that is in terms of the Parliament, the administrative committees, the judicial Board, the Audit board and the Electoral Commission so that has been the focus. Now, the first week we’ve used it to set up some strong institutions. The parliament has been integrated, appointments have been made into the Executive committee.”
