The University of Ghana is set to distribute free 75th anniversary cloth to students. The distribution is set to be held in order to let all students wear their anniversary cloth on the designated ‘Wear UG Day’ on October 11.
In a recent letter released by the UG’s Student Representative Council (SRC), every student will be receiving 2 yards of the UG branded anniversary cloth.
The cloth has been specially designed to honour the university’s rich history and vibrant community over the years since its existence. It is also a symbol of unity and pride that all students and allies of the University can wear with joy.
“…all students will be receiving 2 yards of the UG branded anniversary cloth for free! This beautiful cloth has been specially designed to honor our university’s rich history and vibrant community. It’s a symbol of unity and pride that we can all wear with joy. We will set up multiple collection points across all campuses for your convenience.”
Multiple collection points across all campuses and further details on how to collect a cloth piece will be released in the coming days according to the SRC.
The SRC entreated all students to come together and showcase their unity and love for the University as it celebrates its platinum jubilee.
“Further details on how to collect your piece will be shared with you in the coming days. Also, we encourage you to wear the anniversary cloth proudly on the designated Wear UG Day, 11th October, 2023! We are leaving no one behind, join the trend!”
“Let’s come together as community and showease our unity and love for our University on this special day.”
The ‘Wear UG Day’ which will be celebrated on the 11th of October this year will be a day where members and allies of the University community will adorn the 75th anniversary cloth in various styles.
The day will serve as a commemoration of the University’s inauguration 75 years prior to the present.
