Students at the university of Ghana have expressed concerns over the services of the night market app.

The Night Market App is an application designed to facilitate food purchases from various vendors like Bush Canteen, Night Market and beyond at the University of Ghana.

In an interview with Univers Business, some ststudent have hailed the services provided by the app, while others express frustrations with regard to the technical challenges, they encounter in using the app.

“It has been expensive because they keep increasing the processing fee and the delivery fees. The processing and delivery fee shoots up all the time. I think some of my orders are not rightly processed and secondly, most of the times from the vendors, all you could see is riders not available, riders not available. We do not really know how or why, I think the delays in the delivery of the food is exhausting. Sometimes you wait for like two hours, three hours before the food will come and when it finally comes, it is a wrong order so I think it is exhausting when using the app as compared to walking to the place.”

“I think it is less costly comparing it to bolt delivery or yango delivery. The Night Market app is actually less costly. I have actually not paid for delivery more than 10 cedis before. It is always between the ranges of five to seven cedis.”

“I have actually not been overpriced before, but then I remember level 100, I ordered for food and the food didn’t come, but then they refunded my money the following day.”

“I think it has been a bit expensive lately because sometimes they can charge as much as eight cedis for delivery of which I would rather walk to Night Market and get my food because eight cedis can add something to the food I buying.”

“I have not really faced technical challenges necessarily, but then sometimes some of the food vendors are not available and that does not help for consumer satisfaction. There was an incidence, where a friend ordered for riped plantain 10 cedis and he was given porridge instead. I think that was an issue with communication, probably the typing.”

“I think that they are doing very well but maybe the charges should be checked though I do not know what they consider or what they factor in making the charges but then I think they should consider reducing it.”
