In a significant victory for students, the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Ghana has announced a 25% reduction in Residential Facility User Fees (RFUF) for traditional halls of residence.
This comes after successful negotiations with the Ministry of Education and university management.
Freshmen will now pay GHS 2,500 instead of the initial GHS 3,000, while continuing students will pay GHS 250 in the second semester, a reduction from the previously announced GHS 500 addition.
The SRC highlighted that this reduction aims to ease the financial burden on students while ensuring the university maintains quality services amid rising electricity and maintenance costs
