The University of Ghana has reopened its application window for the correction of students’ biographical particulars, giving eligible students until Monday, 9 November 2026, to rectify errors in their personal records.

The Director of Academic Affairs, Mrs. Lydia Anowa Nyako-Danquah, disclosed the development during a conversation with Univers News on Monday, 2 November 2026, explaining that the exercise was intended to allow students preparing to graduate, particularly final-year students, to review their records and ensure that their personal details were accurate.

“We are reopening for those who are about to graduate. We want them to check their records and make sure everything is correct,” she said.

Also, according to a notice issued by the Academic Affairs Directorate, applications will be accepted from students registered for the 2026/2027 academic year and students who completed their programmes in the 2025/2026 academic year but are yet to graduate and did not apply during the previous correction window.

The Directorate described the opportunity as the final chance for the latter category of students to correct errors in their records.

However, the notice emphasised that only corrections of existing errors would be considered, while requests to change already existing records would not be accepted. Applications from unregistered students, graduates and third parties will also not be considered.

Students seeking corrections are required to submit clear PDF copies of a completed and signed Academic Affairs Directorate Correction of Biographical Particulars Form, their Ghana Card, a Police Clearance Certificate, a Gazette Notification and one source document showing their correct particulars.

The accepted source documents include an original birth certificate issued at birth, a hospital weighing card, a Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) certificate or a West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) certificate.

Additional documentation will also be required depending on the nature of the correction. Students requesting corrections to their names must provide a deed poll notarised by a Notary Public, while those seeking corrections to their dates of birth must submit a statutory declaration notarised by a Notary Public.

Applicants are required to email their completed forms and supporting documents to aad@ug.edu.gh using their official University of Ghana student email addresses no later than Monday, November 9, 2026.

Physical copies of the applications must also be submitted to Room D10 of the Academic Affairs Directorate at the Registry. Students are required to retain their original documents for verification.

The Directorate has urged eligible students to submit their applications promptly, warning that no requests will be accepted after the November 9 deadline.
