The Office of the Registrar at the University of Ghana has announced the promotion of 21 staff members to the ranks of Associate Professor, Deputy Registrar, and other positions.
At a meeting held on November 11, 2025, the Appointments Board, acting on behalf of the University Council, considered and approved the promotion of 9 Associate Professors, 1 Deputy Registrar, 1 Principal Librarian, 1 Principal Accountant, and 1 Principal Curator.
The Board also approved the advancement of 4 Senior Accountants, 2 Senior Medical Officers, 1 Senior Assistant Registrar, and 1 Senior Fleet Manager.
According to Section 86(1a) of the Statutes of the University of Ghana (2024), the University Council has delegated the authority to appoint individuals to the ranks of Associate Professor, Deputy Registrar, and their equivalents to the Appointments Board.
This provision applies to applications submitted on or after August 1, 2024—the effective date of the new statutes.
Applications submitted before this date will continue to be considered by the University Council.
