The University of Ghana (UG) School of Nursing and Midwifery has won the maiden Inter-University Nursing Quiz Competition held on March 27, 2026.

The competition, which brought together nursing students from various universities, saw the University of Ghana team deliver an impressive performance to clinch the top spot.

The quiz was structured in three rounds, testing participants on key areas of nursing knowledge and practice. Throughout the contest, the team maintained a strong lead and secured victory with a total of 83 points.

They were followed by Methodist University, Wisconsin International University, and KAAF University, which placed second, third, and fourth, respectively.

Speaking to Univers News, a member of the winning team described the victory as a rewarding experience.

“This is a proud moment for us. We prepared intensely for this competition, and it feels great to see our hard work pay off,” the student said.

Another participant noted that the competition went beyond just winning.

“It wasn’t just about the trophy; it was about learning, challenging ourselves, and representing our school and UG well,” the student added.

The event, hosted at Methodist University, provided a platform for nursing students to showcase their academic strength, critical thinking, and practical knowledge in the field.

Participants were tested across a wide range of topics, reflecting the depth and breadth of training required in the nursing profession.

The victory marks a significant achievement for the University of Ghana’s School of Nursing and Midwifery, highlighting the quality of training and preparation provided to its students.

It also sets the tone for future editions of the competition, which are expected to grow into a key academic event among nursing institutions in the country.

With this win, the University of Ghana not only takes home the top honour but also sets a high standard for future competitions.
