The President of the Linguistics Students’ Association (LINGSA), Zainab Ibrahim, has urged students in the department to complete their manual registration at the department’s premises.
This follows a poor turnout recorded in the first two days since the exercise began at the forecourt of the Department of Linguistics. In an exclusive interview with UniversNews, the president urged students to come and complete their manual registration, as the number of students who have done so so far is not encouraging.
“On the first day, the number of people who turned out was very low—extremely low. And as of now, only a few people have shown up to pay their dues. This is not encouraging at all. So I urge all LINGSA members to do the needful and pay their dues,” she noted.
Zainab Ibrahim further emphasised the importance of completing the departmental manual registration.
“As a linguistics student, you’re part of an association, and therefore, you need to pay your dues. Dues are essential because they help fund events and resources that support LINGSA members both academically and socially,” she said.
The LINGSA manual registration began on Friday, November 8, and is expected to end on Friday, November 15.
